Youth & Adults Working Together: MTAC Attends Prevention Training

July_2019_MTACatCADCASeveral members of Massapequa Takes Action Coalition (MTAC) recently joined more than 500 students and roughly 2,000 adults from across the country for the 2019 Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) Mid-Year Training Institute (MYTI)  in Dallas, Texas. The MYTI offers in-depth, interactive training sessions geared specifically for community coalition members and youth.

 

MTAC Steering Committee members, Selena and Samantha Sivert, Massapequa High School (MHS) Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Club, Angela Gallucci, Advisor, MHS SADD Club, Jamie Bogenshutz, Executive Director, YES Community Counseling Center, and New York Counterdrug Task Force representatives, attended the one-of-a-kind intensive training opportunity to learn more about substance abuse prevention public policy advocacy, media strategies, and marketing programs to reduce youth substance misuse in the Massapequas.
